Where to stay for an early flight from Heathrow Terminal 5

The short answer: If you fly before 07:00, stay at the one hotel you can walk to the terminal from. Otherwise the pod hotel gets you there almost as easily for a good deal less.

Who it suits
Flights from about 06:30, and couples who want to keep the cost down without relying on a bus timetable.
Why we would choose it
A driverless pod runs from beside the hotel to Terminal 5 in five minutes, from 04:00. It is the nearest thing to walking.
The compromise
The pod costs £8.75 per person each way and arrives in the Terminal 5 car park, so there is still a walk to check-in.
Worth paying more?
Over the bus option, yes: you are not tied to a half-hourly timetable.

Why we would choose it
The Hotel Hoppa bus runs to Terminal 5 from 04:00 and the ride is about ten minutes.
