Heathrow hotels sell parking mostly as a bundle: a night in the hotel, plus a number of days of parking for the trip. How the parking works depends on the package, and it is worth knowing the types before you compare prices.
Prices and terms below come from Heathrow's pages, hotel pages and booking sites. They vary by date and change, so confirm before you book.
The kinds of parking
| How it works | Watch for | |
|---|---|---|
| Hotel and parking bundle | One night in the hotel, then days of parking while you are away | The car is left at the hotel or a nearby car park |
| Park and ride | You leave the car and take a bus to the terminal | Check the bus hours and which terminals it serves |
| Meet and greet | A driver takes your car at the terminal and returns it | Often covers only some terminals |
| Valet | The hotel parks the car for you | Rarely offered by the hotels we cover, and none confirmed |
How a hotel and parking package works
You stay the night before your flight and park at the hotel that night. Heathrow's own site describes the sequence: you park at the hotel on the night of your stay, and on the day of your flight you drive to the car park for your departure terminal. Its packages list hotels within 15 minutes of its Park & Ride car parks. They can only be booked through Heathrow's website, and prices are by quote.
Booking sites sell the same idea. Example bundles we found for one night with about a week's parking ran from roughly £90 to £290, depending on the hotel and the dates. The pages do not say which parking provider each hotel uses.
Choosing
- Check the terminal. Parking, shuttles and meet and greet often serve only some terminals. Make sure yours is covered.
- Compare with parking alone. A bundle can cost less than a room and parking booked separately, but not always. Price both.
- Count the days. Packages cover set numbers of days, such as 4, 8 or 15. Extra days are charged separately.
- Ask about the car. Height, size and fuel type can matter, and the car may be left off-site.
- Allow for the transfer. Park and ride adds a bus. Meet and greet adds a handover time.
Questions to ask before you book
- Is the car parked at the hotel, or at a nearby car park?
- How many days of parking are included, and what do extra days cost?
- Which terminals does the parking or shuttle serve?
- Is it park and ride, or meet and greet?
- What is the height or size limit?
- Must the package be booked direct or through Heathrow?
Our hotels
Most of our hotels near Heathrow can be combined with parking. Each hotel page has a Parking line saying what we found, and none of it is confirmed with the hotel. If you are not driving, our guide to getting between the terminals covers the buses and trains.
