Thistle London Heathrow Terminal 5

Our view: The pod makes this the next best thing to a hotel you can walk from, at a much lower rate. You pay per person for each ride.

Getting to your terminal

A stay only makes sense for some terminals. Here is what the journey takes from the door to check-in at each one.

Our view

Who it suits
Early and mid-morning flights from Terminal 5, and couples or families who want to keep the cost down without relying on a bus timetable.
Why we would choose it
A driverless pod runs from beside the hotel to Terminal 5 in five minutes, starting at 04:00. It gets close to the ease of a connected hotel for a good deal less.
The compromise
The pod is charged per person for each journey, so it adds up for a family. It arrives in the Terminal 5 car park, not at check-in, and it does not run between 00:15 and 04:00.
Worth paying more?
This is the cheaper choice. Paying more for the connected hotel is only worth it when every minute of the morning counts.
