Where to stay before a flight from Heathrow Terminal 3 if you prefer a calm, short start

The short answer: The shortest route is a hotel inside the terminal itself, for a rest before you fly. For a full-service hotel, the walkable one is a longer way through the central area, so ask how far that really is.

Who it suits
Travellers who want the shortest possible route to a Terminal 3 flight and only need a few hours of rest.
Why we would choose it
A small hotel inside Terminal 3 on the ground floor of arrivals, about five minutes from check-in. No walk outside, no bus and nothing to book beyond the room.
The compromise
Compact rooms, and it is a place to rest rather than a hotel to spend an evening in.
Worth paying more?
Yes for a short rest before a Terminal 3 flight. For a full night and a bigger room, choose a full hotel.

Who it suits
Travellers who want a full-service hotel and can manage a ten-minute indoor walk with bags.
Why we would choose it
A full-service hotel reached on foot through the central area in about ten minutes, with nothing to book and no bus.
The compromise
The walk is about twice as long as the shortest route and goes through the central area, so check the distance with the hotel.
Worth paying more?
Yes if you want a proper hotel and can walk that far. If not, the inside-terminal hotel is the easier route.

Who it suits
Travellers with a mid-morning flight who are comfortable boarding a bus.
Why we would choose it
A full hotel on the Hotel Hoppa route to Terminal 3, running from 04:00 to midnight, at a lower rate than the walkable hotels.
The compromise
The bus is charged per person and you board and get off with your bags at both ends. It does not suit an early start.
Worth paying more?
For reduced mobility or an early flight, we would pay the extra for one of the stays above.
