Who it suits: Departures before 07:00, and anyone coming in from a regional area the night before.
Why we would choose it: It is 181 steps from the Terminal 1 check-in counters, by the airport's count. We have stayed here many times before early international flights, and there is nothing to book or wait for.
The compromise: It only works this well for Terminal 1. A domestic flight from here needs the transfer bus or the train.
Worth paying more?: Before 07:00, usually yes. You are buying a later alarm and a morning with no moving parts.

Who it suits: Very early departures, and anyone who only needs a few hours of sleep.
Why we would choose it: It is inside Terminal 1, a few steps from check-in, so there is no transfer before a dawn flight.
The compromise: Rooms are small, 9 to 11 square metres for a double, which is tight for a full night with luggage.
Worth paying more?: This is about fit, not price. A night here costs more than most hotels nearby, and what you buy is the shortest possible morning.

Who it suits: Flights from mid-morning, and travellers who want a larger hotel.
Why we would choose it: Under a kilometre from Terminal 1 by one guide, with a shuttle to the terminal.
The compromise: The shuttle is paid, about $10 to $12 a person, and sources differ on whether the first run is 04:30 or 05:00. That is tight for a dawn departure.
Worth paying more?: For a flight before 07:00 we would choose one of the two you can walk from.
