How Bali Airport is laid out

What about the layout decides where you should sleep.

Two terminals, a short walk apartThe older building handles domestic flights and the newer L-shaped building handles international flights. They sit within walking distance of each other, separated by the Festival Plaza. You do not need a transfer between them.
One hotel inside, the rest in TubanPassGo, a capsule hotel, is inside the International Terminal above arrivals. The airport sits at the narrow neck of the peninsula, and the other hotels are in Tuban, on the Kuta side. Novotel is on the airport road itself, and the rest are a few minutes by car or hotel shuttle.
The traffic is the problemGuides put the drive from Kuta at 10 to 15 minutes off-peak, Legian 20 to 30, Seminyak 20 to 40 and Canggu 35 to 50. In the late afternoon and evening those times can roughly double, and the Simpang Siur interchange is the usual bottleneck. Treat these as rough guides.
Nyepi closes the airportThe airport closes for Nyepi, Bali's day of silence, each year. Hotels do not allow check-in or check-out that day. Check the date before you plan a stay or a flight around it.
