Most airports have a hotel you can walk to. Perth does not. The nearest hotels are a shuttle or a taxi away, so "airport hotel" in Perth means a short ride, and the usual rules change. The honest answer for many trips is not to stay at the airport at all.
The three choices
Near the airport (Redcliffe and Belmont). Sanno Marracoonda, Airport Apartments by Vetroblu and ibis budget are in Redcliffe. Quest Perth Ascot, Ingot Hotel and Country Comfort are a little further along Great Eastern Highway. This is the zone for a flight before the first train or an arrival after the last. Pick on the shuttle, not the room rate. See the shuttles compared.
Burswood. Crown Promenade is about 15 minutes from the airport by road and about 10 from the city. It has a pool, a gym and 24-hour room service, and Crown's restaurants and bars are within walking distance. It has no shuttle that we can confirm, so add a taxi. It suits a long layover or a night out at Optus Stadium, though rates rise on event nights.
The city. From T1 or T2 the Airport Line takes 18 minutes to Perth Station, with a skybridge from the terminals to Airport Central. The city has far more hotels, restaurants and value. It suits a flight at midday or later, or a trip where Perth is part of the stay. From T3 and T4 the train needs Bus 292 first, which makes it less attractive. See getting to the city.
How to choose
| If | Then |
|---|---|
| Your flight is before the first train | A Redcliffe hotel with a night shuttle, such as Vetroblu |
| You land after the last train | A hotel that will collect you, or Crown Promenade with a taxi |
| You have a weekday morning flight and a family | Quest Perth Ascot, if the shuttle fits |
| You have a long layover and want to rest | Crown Promenade |
| You fly mid-morning or later from T1 or T2 | The city, by train |
| You want the cheapest bed | ibis budget, with a taxi, or Sanno |
What is coming
Perth Airport has announced Pullman Perth Airport, the first hotel on the airport estate. It is planned as 240 rooms over eight floors with a rooftop restaurant and bar, operated by Accor. Sources give 2027 as the target year, but we found no confirmed opening date or construction progress. Until it opens, treat it as a plan. See Pullman Perth Airport: what we know.
Where to start
Choose your terminal and your situation: Terminals 1 and 2 or Terminals 3 and 4. If you are not sure which you need, read which terminal.
