Perth Airport hotel shuttles compared

The short answer: Two hotels publish a 24-hour shuttle for all terminals: Ingot Hotel, free but not for children aged six and under, and Airport Apartments by Vetroblu, at A$10 a person each way. Sanno Marracoonda's is free but scheduled in the morning and on request at other times. Quest Perth Ascot's is free on weekday mornings only. ibis budget and Crown Promenade have no shuttle that we can confirm.

Last checked · How we check

There is no hotel at Perth Airport yet, so every hotel is a shuttle or taxi away. The shuttles are not alike. Before you book, check three things: does it run at your hour, does it serve your terminal, and what does it cost for everyone in your party.

What the differences mean

Free is not the same as quick. Sanno says transfers can take up to 45 minutes and exact times cannot be guaranteed. For a flight with a fixed check-in time, the hotel itself suggests pre-booking a taxi or Uber.

Paid can be better value. Vetroblu's A$10 buys a 24-hour service to every terminal. For a pair, a return is A$40. For a family of four it is A$80, so check the apartment saves you that in food and washing.

Free and 24 hours is rare. Ingot is the only free shuttle we found that runs at any hour. It runs on your check-in and check-out days only, is not guaranteed, and arrivals can wait up to 30 minutes.

Weekday-only is a real limit. Quest's free shuttle stops at noon and does not run at weekends. It suits a Monday-to-Friday morning flight and little else.

Children. Vetroblu's fee includes children and infants. Ingot's shuttle is unavailable to children aged six and under, because it carries no child restraints. Always ask about car seats.

Questions to ask the hotel

  • Does the shuttle serve my terminal, or only T1 and T2?
  • What time does it run on my date, and do I need a seat?
  • Where exactly is the pick-up, and who do I call?
  • What happens if my flight is delayed?
  • Is there a luggage limit, and will it take a pram or a wheelchair?
