Who it suits: Anyone after the lowest sensible total for the night.
Why we would choose it: Booking.com says its free shuttle drops off 24/7 at Terminals 1 and 3. The cheapest range after Premier Inn, with a Metro station 500 m away and accessible rooms.
The compromise: A budget brand with small rooms, and we could not confirm that the shuttle also collects you.
Worth paying more?: No. Pay more only for space or a pool.

Who it suits: The lowest nightly price on the list in summer, for people who will plan around the shuttle.
Why we would choose it: A free shuttle runs about every 30 minutes between Terminals 1 and 3. Rooms from about AUD 64 in summer, with a rooftop pool.
The compromise: Compact rooms, breakfast is usually extra, and the shuttle runs half-hourly.
Worth paying more?: No. The saving is real, but the shuttle and the room are basic.

Who it suits: Travellers who want a five-star for the price of a four-star in summer.
Why we would choose it: The hotel says its free shuttle runs 24/7 for Terminals 1 and 3. A five-star with a rooftop pool, from about AUD 72 a night in May and June.
The compromise: It costs much more in December and March, and the shuttle claim is unconfirmed.
Worth paying more?: Worth it in summer. In December, a budget hotel is cheaper by a wide margin.
