Last checked · How we check

DFW gives you two ways to sleep on a layover: a suite inside security, or a hotel outside it.

Inside security

Minute Suites rents private rooms by the hour inside security, with no showers at the Terminal A suite. DFW lists the Terminal A suite near gate A38 and Minute Suites lists gate A39, so ask at the desk. The Terminal D suite near gate D23 closes for renovation from 1 October 2026. Minute Suites says its suites are open 24 hours, subject to demand.

Before security

The Grand Hyatt in Terminal D and the Hyatt Regency beside Terminal C are both before security. Leaving means US entry rules apply to your passport, and you clear security again. The Hyatt Regency sells day-use rooms, per DFW, with the price quoted by the hotel.

Which to choose

  • Under about five hours: stay inside security, or use Minute Suites at A.
  • Six to twelve hours with a bag: a day room at the Hyatt Regency, or the Grand Hyatt if you are at Terminal D.
  • Overnight: a hotel, with time for security in the morning.
