Where to stay near Brisbane Airport

The short answer: Choose by terminal. Pullman is a five-minute covered walk from the Domestic Terminal and ibis is seven to eight minutes, both via the Skywalk. From the International Terminal, take the free terminal bus and walk, or the $9 hotel shuttle in the early morning (book a seat ahead). There is no hotel at the international terminal yet.

How Brisbane Airport is laid out

What about the layout decides where you should sleep.

  1. Two terminals, 2 km apartThe Domestic and International terminals are separate buildings about 2 km apart. A free transfer bus runs between them every 10 minutes, roughly 04:00 to 01:30, and takes about 5 minutes. You cannot walk between them.
  2. The hotels are on the domestic sidePullman and ibis sit beside the Domestic Terminal and are linked to it by the covered Skywalk. Novotel is at Skygate, a free bus or a short shuttle away. All three are closer to Domestic than to International.
  3. No hotel at InternationalThere is no hotel inside or attached to the International Terminal. The first hotel next to it is being planned, with no opening date. Until then, every international stay starts with a transfer.
  4. The train is for the cityThe Airtrain runs from both terminals to the city in about 20 minutes. A transfer between the two terminals costs $5, so the free bus is usually the better choice.
