No. There is no hotel inside the International Terminal and none attached to it. If you are flying out of International, every hotel involves a transfer.
What is there now
Brisbane Airport has three hotels:
- Pullman Brisbane Airport and ibis Brisbane Airport sit together at 2 Dryandra Road, beside the Domestic Terminal.
- Novotel Brisbane Airport is at Skygate, near DFO, about 5 km from the Domestic Terminal.
All three are closer to Domestic than to International. Pullman is about a five-minute covered walk from domestic check-in and ibis seven to eight minutes, both via the Skywalk. None is walkable from International.
How to get there from International
There are three ways, and the best one depends on the time.
The free terminal bus, then a walk
The free bus runs between the terminals every 10 minutes from 04:00 to 01:30 and takes about 5 minutes. It drops at the Domestic Terminal. From there, the covered Skywalk takes about five minutes to Pullman and seven to eight to ibis, and is lit 24/7.
This is the cheapest option and the most reliable late at night. It is a two-step transfer with luggage, so allow about 30 minutes door to door.
The hotel shuttle
The airport hotel shuttle loops ibis, Pullman, Domestic, International and Novotel. It costs $9 a person and runs every 40 minutes in the early morning, roughly 03:35 to 09:55, with most runs between 04:00 and 09:00. Book a seat in advance; a missed bus can mean a 40-minute wait. The trip takes about 15 minutes.
This is the easiest option for an early international flight. It is also the most limited: after the last run, around 09:55, it has stopped.
Where the shuttle picks up
The loop is run by Specialised Transport Australia.
At Domestic: walk out of the arrivals and baggage claim area and cross the zebra crossings over the passenger pickup roads to the commercial transport lanes. Look for the Bus & Coach Charter Bays or the Orange Terminal Transfer Bus stops, which are outside the terminal at both the Qantas and Virgin Australia ends.
At International: go down to Level 2 (Arrivals), exit past customs and follow the signs to the Bus and Coach Zone down the ramp. The shuttle collects from the coach charter bays there.
Coming back: the shuttle drops at International on Level 4 (Departures), near the check-in counters.
A taxi or rideshare
A taxi from International to Pullman or ibis is a short fare, about $15 to $20, plus the airport's $4.86 pick-up fee. Use it after 01:30, when the free bus has stopped, or when the shuttle timetable does not fit.
What about Novotel?
Novotel is at Skygate, not the airport. It runs a shuttle to both terminals, but the same early-morning window applies, about 03:35 to 09:55; book ahead. Outside those hours, you need a taxi or the free Skygate bus, and the Skygate bus does not go directly to International.
Novotel is the best choice if you want a pool, more space or a family room. It is not the best choice if your priority is the shortest transfer.
The new hotel
Brisbane Airport has put two hotel sites out for operator selection: one adjacent to the International Terminal and one at Skygate. The international site would be the first hotel to directly serve the International Terminal.
The airport says its three existing hotels are consistently at capacity and that it is "highly confident the airport can support five hotels" ahead of the 2032 Olympic Games. There is no operator or opening date yet, so do not plan around it.
What we would book
- Early international flight, comfort: Pullman. Take the free terminal bus at 04:00 or the $9 hotel shuttle (book ahead), and allow 30 minutes.
- Early international flight, budget: ibis. Same transfer, lower room rate.
- Family or a long stay: Novotel. More space and a pool, but a shuttle or taxi to the terminal.
- Late international arrival: Pullman or ibis, using the free terminal bus to Domestic and the covered walk via the Skywalk. Both have a 24-hour desk. The hotel shuttle has stopped by then.
