Western Sydney International opened on 25 October. If you are thinking of driving there and staying the night before, here is where things stood in our latest checks.

There is no hotel at the airport
Our opening guide covers the airport itself. The nearest places to stay are in Wallacia, St Marys, Penrith, Liverpool and Oran Park, and each of them is a drive from the terminal.
The hotels we list and their parking
| Hotel | Parking |
|---|---|
| Mercure Sydney Liverpool | Free |
| Quality Inn Penrith | Free |
| Atura Oran Park | Paid, price unconfirmed |
None of them sells a park and stay package that leaves your car for the trip. We looked for one and found nothing. That may change as hotels settle into the new airport.

What that means for your plan
- For an early flight, sleep close and leave early. A hotel saves you the longest part of the drive but not all of it. Check the drive time yourself in the morning traffic you expect.
- Do not count on leaving the car at the hotel. Free parking for guests usually means the nights you stay. For a longer trip, price the airport's own car park.
- Compare with Sydney Airport. If you are choosing between the two airports, our calculator compares fares, getting there, parking and time from your part of Sydney.
What we are watching
We will recheck parking, drive times and any new packages in the first weeks after opening, and update this post when we do. See stays near Western Sydney Airport for the full list.
