Sydney or Western Sydney?

The short answer: it depends where you start and how you get there. A cheaper fare from WSI can disappear in the drive, and a cheaper car park can cost you an hour. Tell us your trip and we'll do the sums.

Approximate costs

CostSydneyWSIDifference

These are approximate costs, not quotes. Fuel is an average of 26 cents a kilometre, drive times are off-peak, and parking prices were checked on 20 October 2026. Traffic, tolls, surge pricing and the date you book will all change them.

The catch

    How we work it out

    • Parking comes from each airport's own booking site, checked on 20 October 2026 for stays in January 2027. Both bill in 24-hour blocks, so a part day counts as a full one.
    • Driving counts fuel at 26 cents a kilometre and tolls on the way to Sydney Airport. Times are off-peak.
    • Rideshare is a typical off-peak fare: base, distance, time, tolls and the airport fee.
    • Train to Sydney Airport includes the station access fee. WSI's metro fares aren't confirmed yet.
    • Time is shown beside the cost, never added into it. We also give a figure that values your time at A$30 an hour, for when cost and time point different ways.

These are estimates to help you choose, not quotes. Prices change with the date you book, so check the airport's own site before you pay. We're independent and not part of either airport.
