LAX's people mover has still not opened

The short answer: LAX's people mover is not open, and sources disagree on when it will be. Hotel shuttles collect on the Upper/Departures Level and rideshare uses LAX-it, so allow extra time.

Last checked · How we check

The Automated People Mover, now called SkyLink, is meant to link the terminals, the LAX/Metro Transit Center, the rental car centre and parking. It has missed one date after another.

What this means

  • Hotel shuttles still collect on the Upper/Departures Level, at the red pylons.
  • Taxis and ride apps still use LAX-it, east of Terminal 1.
  • Allow extra time around terminal traffic.

What we could not confirm

The new opening date. Check LAWA before you plan around it.
