- Who it suits
- Layovers of ten hours or more and overnight gaps, when you want to see the harbour and not an airport hotel.
- Why we would choose it
- Circular Quay station is a three-minute walk by the hotel's own page, and the airport train reaches it in about 20 minutes from either side of the airport. The Opera House, the ferries and The Rocks are all around the quay.
- The compromise
- The train costs about $22 a person each way, so two of you pay close to $90 return before the room. We found no day rate, so you pay for a full night, and you must clear immigration and leave time to get back.
- Worth paying more?
- Only if you have the hours. Under about ten, the journey and the fare take too much of the gap: stay at the airport.
Getting to your terminal
A stay only makes sense for some terminals. Here is what the journey takes from the hotel to check-in at each one.
| Terminal | How you get there | Hotel to check-in | Cost |
