Changi transit hotels, and which side of immigration

The short answer: Transit hotels at T1, T2 and T3 are airside, sold in six and twelve hour blocks, with no immigration. YOTELAIR in Jewel and Crowne Plaza at T3 are in the public area, so you must clear immigration and enter Singapore. The T2 hotel changes operator on 3 November 2026.

Last checked · How we check

At Changi, "airport hotel" can mean two different things, and the line between them is immigration.

Airside: no immigration

Changi Transit Hotel is at T1 (Level 3, near gate D40) and T3 (Level 3, beside the movie theatre). Ambassador Transit Hotel is at T2 (Level 3, Departure Transit Hall South). All three are in the secure area, open 24 hours, and sold in blocks of hours. A third-party guide gives six-hour rates of about S$160 for the T1 Standard room (bathroom outside) and about S$260 for a Deluxe, and about S$317 to S$355 for twelve hours. Only cabin bags go into the rooms, and you need your passport and an onward boarding pass.

If you arrive from the city and want a room, you have to check in and clear departure immigration first.

Landside: you enter Singapore

YOTELAIR is on Level 4 of Jewel, in the public area. A transit passenger must clear arrival immigration to reach Jewel, so it is not an airside nap. It sells day cabins from four hours between 06:00 and 22:00. Crowne Plaza stands beside T3, outside immigration.

The T2 change

From 3 November 2026 Ambassador Transit Hotel becomes Changi Transit Hotel T2. Stays from that date book through changitransithotel.com. We will update this page once rates for the new hotel are published.

Do you need one?

Under about five hours, a free rest area (reclining chairs in each terminal) or a pay-per-use shower is cheaper. A transit hotel earns its price on a connection of six hours or more, particularly overnight.
