People search for "hotels inside Atlanta Airport", and the honest answer is that there are none. ATL's own ground transportation page lists hotels only as shuttle pick-ups on the west curb of the Domestic Terminal. We found no hotel in either terminal building.
What exists comes in three kinds, and sites use "connected" for all of them.
1. Hotels on the SkyTrain
The ATL SkyTrain is free and runs between the Domestic Terminal and the Gateway Center, about two minutes, per ATL District. Five hotels are there: the Atlanta Airport Marriott Gateway, the Renaissance Atlanta Airport Gateway, SpringHill Suites, the AC Hotel and Tru by Hilton. These are the closest you can get. Walks from the station run from steps to about five minutes.
2. Hotels with a shuttle
The Westin, the Atlanta Airport Marriott on Best Road, Hyatt Place South and Embassy Suites are on ATL's shuttle list. They collect from Aisle C of the Ground Transportation Center. Hours differ and none is confirmed to us.
3. Hotels that only say "airport"
Many listings use the airport's name for a hotel a drive away. If a hotel is not on the SkyTrain and not on ATL's shuttle list, ask how you get there.
What we could not confirm
- Walk times from the SkyTrain station to each hotel, other than the AC Hotel's own five minutes.
- Shuttle hours for every shuttle hotel.
- Whether the SkyTrain runs 24 hours on every night. One hotel says so, ATL's pages do not.
